Tomorrow, an asteroid will flyby Earth inside of the Moon’s orbit! The last flyby of a large asteroid was in 1976 and the next one will be in 2028. A picture was taken of the asteroid yesterday (left) and it was about 860,000 miles away from Earth.
Warning gulf inhabitants! A Nasa satellite has reclassified a tropical depression as Hurricane Alex (right) This photograph was taken by NASA’s Terra satellite on June 30, 2010 at 12:10 Central Daylight Time. Hurricanes in general are bad, but this one is arguably twice as bad because of the gulf oil spill.
